Pipe System Prevents Root Intrusion and Stops Leaks

Nu Flow Technologies

The patented cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) system creates a protective, structural pipe inside an existing host piping system without the need for digging or destruction. The patents allow the system to line inside infrastructure and underground pipe.

CIPP restoration uses a liner saturated with epoxy to create a barrier that can span missing sections of pipe, which commonly causes low flow and root intrusion. The seamless and jointless CIPP is used to rehabilitate deteriorating sanitary drain and storm sewer lines, stopping leaks while controlling and preventing root intrusion.

The technology is best suited for pipe .75-12 inches in diameter and larger custom sizes, while accommodating multiple 45 and 90 degree elbows. The Scorpion Cutter from Nu Flow is used to clean out the pipe of existing roots and buildup. Once cleaned, the pipe is lined with the structural liner, which will prevent root intrusion. The technology can also be used as a preventative measure against future cracks and intrusions.
