$161 million resort-style senior project planned in Minnesota

Plymouth project includes geothermal wells for heating and cooling and other features to earn LEED certification

A $161 million Trillium Woods resort-style senior living community in Plymouth, Minn., will incorporate geothermal wells for heating and cooling and other features that the developers hope will earn LEED certification, according to an article on the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal website.

The development is scheduled to open next summer. Amenities will include a clubhouse with restaurant-style dining, library, café, auditorium, fitness center, indoor pool and whirlpool. Private walking trails on the site will connect to the regional trail system.

The project's construction cost has increased from $87 million to $94 million since Des Moines, Iowa-based Life Care Services sought financing in 2010, the article said.
