Crystal Run Healthcare unveils its new facility

Crystal Run Healthcare unveiled its new 66,000 square foot multi-specialty medical office, modeled after The Everett Clinic’s Smokey Point facility in Washington State recently.

Crystal Run Managing Partner and CEO Hal Teitelbaum said, “This building is a metaphor, a symbol of what we are trying to do in health care.”

The facility, located on Route 300, has been open since July 20. During the ribbon cutting ceremony, a number of patients could be seen entering the building.

Prior to the ribbon cutting, elected officials, community members and health industry leaders went on guided tours. Inside they discovered a check in kiosk, like those at an airport. There were also people at a reception area for those who needed to speak with an actual person.

The facility features an inviting atrium where patients can enjoy an open and well-lit space, with easy access to all the providers and services.

Noticeably there were no “waiting rooms,” just pause areas for patients. The idea is to reduce the time patients wait to be seen in any area. And everything is color coordinated. Each area of specialty has its own color. That unique color is seen as soon as you check in at the kiosk and greets you when you arrive to that space.

There are more than 20 medical and surgical specialties, from primary care and urgent care to cardiology and neurology and provides patients with access to all of Crystal Run’s over 40 specialties. It also included an endoscopy suite, infusion center, and provides full diagnostic testing, including state of the art imaging.

Crystal Run plans to continue its growth, with plans to open offices in Rockland and Ulster counties. In addition to its Orange and Sullivan county locales, Crystal Run is also looking to expand into Dutchess, Long Island and Westchester. They already have more than 2,000 employees consisting of doctors, nurses, physicians assistant, and lab technicians.

“It was important to us to give the Newburgh community a truly exceptional facility, with a broad range of specialties and services,” explained Teitelbaum.  “But this facility was also designed to transform the patient experience, and serve as the model for all new Crystal Run facilities going forward”.

That same design will be implemented in two of their planned offices, one in Monroe, the other in West Nyack. Other changes will be made to some of their existing locations.

Teitelbaum summed it all up by saying, “We focus on what matters most to patients – a better healthcare experience.”
