Emerson acquires Advanced Protection Technology (APT)

By Healthcare Facilities Today

ST. LOUIS – Emerson today announced it has closed on the purchase of Advanced Protection Technologies (APT), which manufactures and services surge protection technologies that avoid downtime resulting from grid irregularities or electrical disturbances, thus protecting sensitive equipment.

Based in Clearwater, Florida, APT’s broad general-purpose surge protection products align with Emerson Network Power branded high capacity surge protective devices customized for critical power applications. APT will become part of Emerson Network Power’s ASCO Power business.

“We believe the combination of ASCO’s high-level consultative model with APT’s leadership and customer service in general AC power markets will be a great benefit to our customers,” said Armand Visioli, president of ASCO Power.  “This advantage is made even more powerful when you consider the product development experience and industry application knowledge that talented people from both companies now bring together.”
