Healthcare facilities management can curb spread of super bugs

Report says effective facility design, operations and management can cut infections

In a new report, Infection Control Rises to Top of C-Suite Agenda, a panel of facilities management infection control experts connect effective facility design, operations and management to the ability to control and dramatically reduce hospital-acquired infections, according to an article on the Market Wired website.

The report highlights three areas to consider:

• Physical materials and placement of medical supplies and equipment within a care setting.

• Proper maintenance and cleaning of environmental equipment and medical devices.

• Effective oversight of outside contractors and services.
