Healthcare sign improves communication, infection control, and sustainability

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – A single new design has the power to solve multiple challenges for the healthcare industry. 2/90 Sign Systems, an industry leader of solution-based architectural signage, is introducing VitalSign to its line of healthcare specialty products, addressing ongoing needs for better communication, infection control, and sustainability in healthcare.

The modular sign design features changeable medical alert messages to communicatecritical patient care information. VitalSign can be placed next to the bedside at the point of care for easy viewing, or in the hallway with ADA-compliant graphics to identify room locations. Clients can choose from a collection of standard color-coded medical alert messages or customizesliders in any color, icon or configuration. This modularity allows alert messages to be updated as the needs of the facility change.

All alert messages are self-contained within 2/90’s Modular sign system. Marketing Director Rebecca Tyke explains, “Thedesign encapsulates the alert messages for security and cleanability. A magnet securely changes the message while preventing the spread of infectious disease.” 

As with all 2/90 sign systems, modularity is built in. VitalSign is available in eight standard sizes witha variety of configuration choices. Alert messages can be displayed in a single or double column, and sign size is determined by the number of messages and desired options. Standard options include window signs for changeable paper messages that promote your brand or other information, or dry erase boards for hand-written notes. Insert graphics feature tactile, direct print, laser print and dry erase. VitalSign™ even features built-in accessories, including a marker holder or a SmartStrip to display laminated or paper messages.The signs can also be customized with alert messages for one or two beds and materials such as magnetic or pinboards. 

This highly flexible, easy-to-change design lets clientstailor VitalSign to fit their needs while maintaining aesthetic consistency throughout their facility. It’s also simple and cost-effective to update signs as your communication needs change, making VitalSign™ a sustainable solution.

“Because the alert messages are designed as inserts, they can also retrofit existing 2/90 Modular signage, or be used for future designs when technology changes,” says Tyke. “This extends the lifecycle of the signs, adding value for our customers.”
