Operating rooms can include injuries that are just waiting to happen, according to an article on the Outpatient Surgery website.

There could be cords to trip on and bodily fluids to slip on. In addition, back sprains and strains are the leading causes of work-related musculoskeletal disorders for nurses.

The best way to prevent back injuries from lifting is to use ergonomics to avoid lifting tasks.

For example, elevating the kick bucket, which is customarily low to the floor, in a ring stands to decrease the amount of bending the floor nurses must do.
