Kemper System America showcases waterproofing technology for diverse architectural projects

By Healthcare Facilities Today

Kemper System America will be showcasing state-of-the-art, cold liquid-applied resin reinforced membrane waterproofing, roofing and surfacing technology at  ArchitectureBoston Expo (ABX) at the Boston Convention Center, in Boston, MA, November 19-21, booth #312/314.

The company will present Learning Stage Workshops from 12:30 to 1 p.m. daily during the show to demonstrate the versatile KEMPEROL system, widely used across the U.S., and in many countries around the world.

In New England, built-to-last solutions from Kemper System protect a variety of marquee venues including: Seating decks at historic Fenway Park, a plaza roof at the recently completed One Boston Place, green roofs at Massachusetts General Hospital and Bay State Medical Center, as well as libraries and other projects at MIT, Yale and the University of Massachusetts.

“Kemper System pioneered cold liquid applied technology over 50 years ago, and our advanced systems remain a popular choice because we offer expertise for all types of waterproofing challenges, including green roofs, blue-roof rainwater retention systems, and white reflective roofs that can reduce building energy demands. We can address the full range from new roofs to re-roofs to restorations, and can seal all the details from domes to skylights to multiple roof penetrations,” said Brett Steinberg, National Sales Manager, Kemper System America.

The “odor-free” Kemperol 2K-PUR membrane system, in particular, is in high demand for sensitive areas and occupied buildings. “Odor free” can also avoid the need for off-hour scheduling. The solvent-free product consists of 80% rapidly renewable resources derived from the castor plant, and VOCs are a low 6 g/l. The system can also contribute to LEED credits for stormwater design and Heat Island Effect.

Both blue roofs and green roofs can ease stormwater runoff, a growing issue in urban areas and those prone to flash flooding. For green roofs, the monolithic, seamless, rot- and root-resistant Kemperol membrane systems provide long-term protection for expensive landscaped overburdens, and can accommodate virtually any roof landscaping design. For “blue” and exposed roofs, they resist UV rays and are unaffected by temperature cycling, standing water and ice. In addition, cool “white” reflective finishes that meet or exceed industry standard reflectivity ratings are available to help lower building energy demands.

Designing for the long-term means specifying materials and systems designed for extended service life. Kemper System America offers a variety of warranties, including a single-source warranty for built-up green roof assemblies which include the liquid waterproofing membrane, insulation, drainage mat, retention mat, filter sheet and growing media.

State-of-the-art Kemperol membrane systems fully adhere to substrates, and are self-flashing and self-sealing for easy installation and edge-to-edge protection. They also are fully reinforced with needle-punched 165 polyester fleece which absorbs the resin and can achieve proper membrane thickness in a single topcoat.

Kemper System is a leader in odor-free liquid-membrane systems and provides long-term, built-to-last solutions for:  plazas, green roofs, new roofs assemblies, existing roof recovery, metal roofs, balconies and terraces, historic restoration, gutterways, interior and industrial applications and below-grade waterproofing.

Kemper employs a nationwide network of committed sales representatives and a staff of professional technical support consultants that provide expert counseling, evaluation and long-term, built-to-last solutions. Kemper System projects are supported by an experienced technical department, site quality control department and customer care support center, as well as trained technical field sales representatives throughout the U.S. and Canada.
