The 192-bed, $322 million MaineGeneral hospital project consolidated two aging facilities and was the largest project in MaineGeneral Health's history, according to an article on the Healthcare Design website. The project was executed with an integrated project delivery (IPD) contract. “I liked the tenets of it. I saw that when it was done right, the results are excellent. So we headed off in that direction,” said Chuck Hays, MaineGeneral president and CEO.
