Maryland hospitals' adjustments to new healthcare realities include large construction projects, robots and innovative educational programs, according to an article on the DelMarva Now website.

For instance, Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury is in the process of renovating and modernizing its operating suites.

The large suites will allow patients to have more privacy and will feature state-of-the-art technology and capabilities including a new robot that assists with hysterectomies, lung operations, prostate, colon and kidney surgeries.

Nanticoke Memorial Health Services is constructing a 40,000-square-foot medical office building in Seaford to act as its central hub.

The new building will provide patients with an alternative to visiting Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, according to hospital officials.
