The new Cherokee Indian Hospital in Cherokee, N.C., almost doubles the space of its former hospital, with larger inpatient rooms and gathering spaces for family and friends, according to an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

The new $80 million, 150,000-square-foot facility combines modern design with the spirituality of the Cherokee culture.

The new hospital boasts abundant natural light, larger inpatient rooms, healing gardens, family gathering areas, inclusion of the Cherokee culture, alternative therapies, walking tracks and integrated care.

It will also serve as a meeting place for family and friends and a place to learn more about healthcare.
