New Johnson Controls wireless thermostat simplifies commercial building digital automation

MILWAUKEE – Johnson Controls, a global multi-industrial company, released a new series of pneumatic-to-digital thermostats, the WT-4000.  The WT-4000 series efficiently converts older pneumatic room control systems and enables communication with newer digital building automation systems.

The WT-4000 series provides the benefits of a digital control system, including programmable occupancy scheduling and remote temperature monitoring, which can result in increased energy and operational savings. The new thermostats are long-life battery operated and require no additional wiring, resulting in minimum upfront costs and disruptions to the building’s structure or occupants.

“This is another industry-leading innovation by the company that invented the first pneumatic controls system 119 years ago,” said Terry Pierson, product manager, Johnson Controls. “This new 21st century series of thermostats allows buildings with older pneumatic control systems to enter the digital world.”

The new thermostats are ideal for commercial buildings, schools and critical environments like hospitals, which cannot afford to disrupt occupants or undergo expensive upgrades, but also want the benefits of digital information and efficiency. The WT-4000 Series thermostats come in eight different configurations and offer either Fahrenheit or Celsius displays.
