Oahu health facilities to get $2 million in capital improvements

New nurse stations, employee break rooms, renovated patient rooms as well as a new phone system are part of the upgrade

Avalon Health Care is updating its two nursing and assisted living facilities on Oahu, according to an article on the Pacific Business News website.

Avalon Care Center in Kalihi will have a new lobby entrance, new nurse stations, employee break rooms and renovated patient rooms.

The Hale Nani Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Makiki has new televisions and phones for the post-acute care sections of the facility, including fiber optic wire and Direct TV satellite installations in all rooms.

The renovations are underway as construction on Kalakaua Gardens, a $75 million senior-living high rise, continues. The building is set to be completed in early 2016.
