Study: Healthcare Workers Of Color Nearly Twice As Likely To Get COVID

They were also more likely to care for COVID-19 patients and report having PPE issues


According to a new  study from Harvard Medical School, healthcare workers of color were  nearly twice as likely as their white colleagues to test positive for the coronavirus, more likely to care for COVID-19 patients and more likely to report having PPE issues, 

The study also showed that healthcare workers in general are at least three times more likely than the general public to report a positive COVID test, according to an article on the CT Mirror website. Health care workers of color were five times more likely than the general population to test positive.

Workers of color were 20 percent more likely than white workers to care for suspected or confirmed-positive COVID patients. The rate went up to 30 percent for Black workers.

Overall, Black and Latino people have been three times as likely as whites to get the virus, according to an article in The New York Times.
