Tyco Security Products’ Irene Lam to Speak at 2016 Massachusetts Conference for Women

Tyco Security Products, part of Johnson Controls, announced today that for the third consecutive year it will sponsor and participate in the Massachusetts Conference for Women on December 7-8, 2016, at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston, Mass. The event features nationally recognized speakers and includes seminars, author book-signings, networking opportunities and small business roundtable discussions.

The 12th Annual Massachusetts Conference for Women is a two-day conference expected to draw more than 10,000 professional women from around the world, including keynote speakers Gail King of “CBS This Morning,” University Professor Anita Hill of Brandeis University and Sara Blakely, named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the world.

Irene Lam, Vice President of Engineering, for Tyco Security Products, will participate in the panel discussion, “The Hybrid Job: Harness the Skills Needed to Market Yourself Today and Create a Brand to Last!.” Lam will advise attendees on how best to cultivate a personal brand based on interpersonal communication, engagement with colleagues and becoming an invaluable, multifaceted employee.

“If you want to remain competitive in the global business marketplace, you must create an infrastructure for developing female talent,” said Lam. “The Massachusetts Conference for Women does that by providing a platform through which women can connect with one another, create mentorships and develop the skills they need to succeed, based on a vision of gender diversity and equity.”

Lam will be joined on the panel by: Nicole Williams, founder and CEO WORKS, best-selling author and official spokesperson for LinkedIn; Dawn Dickson, founder and CEO of Flat Out of Heels; and Egypt Sherrod, named “America’s most beloved real estate agent” and host of HGTV’s “Property Virgins.”

As the vice president of engineering for Tyco Security Products, Lam is responsible for product development, quality assurance, technical support and advanced manufacturing. She oversees more than 500 engineers across 10 design centers in strategic and high technology locations. Over the course of her 12 years with Tyco Security Products, she has held multiples roles within product management and research and development. She was recognized by Security System News as one of the top 10 Women in Security for 2015 and represents Tyco Security Products in The Conference Board Leadership Council of Advancing Women II.
