The $1.9 billion modernization of the University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein’s Kiel and Lübeck campuses is the largest public-private partnership project in Germany, according to an article on the Healthcare Design website. Prior to beginning the project, planners spent more than two years studying building options, forecasting healthcare delivery changes and conducting hundreds of work sessions strategizing the future of health, research, and medical education, the article said.
