Upsite Technologies taps former Hitachi executive to penetrate public sector it and data center markets

Upsite Technologies, Inc., a leader in data center airflow management solutions, announced the addition of Duane Davenport to the position of Vice President of Federal Sales and Special Projects, where he will be responsible for managing Upsite’s expansion into the public sector data center, IT, and energy efficiency marketplaces.

In his new role, Mr. Davenport brings to Upsite more than twenty-eight years of experience in channel sales and development, business development, business operations, and marketing for both national and global accounts. Mr. Davenport received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Northern Arizona University as well as a Masters in Computer Resource Management/Human Resource Development from Webster University and a M.Ed. in Gifted/Special Education from the College of Santa Fe.

Prior to joining Upsite, Mr. Davenport was National Account Manager at Hitachi Data Systems. During his eight years there, Mr. Davenport managed national marketing, sales, and channel development efforts as well as engineering/IT deployment for major federal accounts, including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Department of Energy (DOE).  Prior to its acquisition by Oracle, Mr. Davenport worked as Major Accounts Manager for the Western United States at Sun Microsystems, where he performed similar duties for clients in the government and commercial sectors, as well as the federal and state governments. Mr. Davenport also enjoyed several years of teaching mathematics to special education and gifted students in New Mexico.

“Upsite has established itself as one of the leading providers of energy efficiency products and services in the data center industry,” said Duane Davenport. “With the increased federal focus on improving IT, data center, and national energy consumption, I look forward to helping Upsite and its reseller partners expand into this vital sector.”

“Duane will play a pivotal role in leveraging Upsite’s expertise in airflow management solutions for public sector customers,” said Peter Crook, President and CEO of Upsite Technologies. “He has an extensive background in federal government sales, reseller support, and channel growth, all of which will be utilized as we grow with Federal IT energy efforts.”

Earlier this year, Upsite Technologies’ AisleLok® Modular Containment was named winner of the “Bright Idea” category at the 2015 Modern Infrastructure Impact Awards. The company also recently released the Environmental Monitoring System 200TM, a wired sensor network manager designed to track a variety of threats in data centers and mission critical facilities.
