Virginia healthcare facility increasing security after fatal stabbing

Police will patrol the hospital's parking lot


Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Va., is adding security measures to their campus after a staff member was stabbed to death in the parking lot, according to an article on the Campus Safety magazine.

The upgraded security will include officer escorts for employees.

Sheriff’s deputies will also patrol the parking lot during shift employee changes.

Riverside Shore was placed on lockdown after a man stabbed a hospital employee multiple times during daylight hours.
