2019 Environmental Services Departments of the Year named

The award recognizes best practices in cleaning and caring for the healthcare environment


The 2019 Environmental Services Departments of the Year have named in an article on the Health Facilities Management website.

Presented by the Association for the Health Care Environment (AHE), the award recognizes best practices in cleaning and caring for the healthcare environment.

The winners are:

• 501-plus beds: Parkview Health, Fort Wayne, Ind.

• 251-500 beds: Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton, Pa.

• 1-250 beds: Northside Hospital – Cherokee, Canton, Ga.

The award highlights the achievements by environmental services teams that maintain high levels of performance in cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, environmental sustainability and stewardship, use of technology, patient satisfaction, collaboration, and education and training in critical areas.
