Albany ENT & Allergy Services and Everett Ambulatory Surgery Center Break Ground on Medical Office Building

Albany ENT & Allergy Services, OrthoNY and St. Peter’s Hospital broke ground on a new state-of-the-art, point-of-care medical office building and multi-specialty joint venture ambulatory surgery center on July 11 at 123 Everett Road, and are behind the vision of creating a new, contemporary clinical experience.

The 54,000 square-foot medical space will be divided for two uses: 32,000 square feet will serve as the new offices for Albany ENT & Allergy Services and the remaining 22,000 square feet will serve as a multi-specialty joint venture ambulatory surgery center. The ambulatory surgery center will expand the availability and accessibility of high quality, cost-effective outpatient ambulatory surgical services, from tonsillectomies to total joint replacements. Albany ENT & Allergy Services’ new office space and the ambulatory surgery center will be located conveniently next door to OrthoNY’s current offices at 121 Everett Road.

“This project reaffirms Albany ENT & Allergy Services' commitment to provide the best patient-centered ear, nose, throat and allergy care to patients in the Capital Region and well beyond,” said Gavin Setzen, M.D., president, Albany ENT & Allergy Services. “We are delighted to partner with OrthoNY and St. Peter’s Health Partners, premier health care providers in Upstate NY, with the goal of enhancing patient satisfaction and increasing access to high quality, efficient and cost-effective health care.”

Paulsen Development Company’s Richard Paulsen began developing this concept in 2015 with the project’s other managing partners: Albany ENT’s Dr. Setzen and Lawrence Kaufman, M.D., along with OrthoNY’s Leonard Goldstock, M.D. and Frank Congiusta, M.D.

“We look forward to the outcome of this unique collaboration resulting from the entrepreneurial spirits of two private physician practices, a local development partnership and St. Peter’s Health Partners, to whom we extend thanks for their ongoing support of this project,” said Dr. Goldstock, president, OrthoNY.  “We recognize that the future is in value-                                                                                -MORE-

based health care. We believe offering patients an experience that enables them to go home and sleep in their own bed the same night after surgery facilitates the best outcome for a rapid return to a normal and rewarding lifestyle.”

BBL Construction, the project’s contractor, expects to complete the project by summer 2019.
