Waiting rooms and restrooms don’t always receive the same level of attention as patient and operating rooms


Healthcare facilities understand the need for air purification in sterile areas, but common areas — including waiting rooms and restrooms — don’t always receive the same attention, according to an article on the FacilityCare website.

Removal of airborne germs and viruses in these areas is key to slowing the spread of infections.

Facility managers need to understand the needs of different areas throughout a building. The needs of a small public bathroom will diff from a cafeteria or other large space. 

The best air purifiers have smart sensors to detect the air quality and room occupancy, and then function accordingly to conserve energy and prolong filter life.
