Altro safety flooring specified for Sydney Adventist Hospital kitchen

Two Altro Safety Flooring products were specified for the new kitchen at the Sydney Adventist Hospital during the redevelopment project.

Food preparation areas such as hospital kitchens require tough solutions to provide slip-resistance, cleanability and comfort to all users, many of whom would be spending hours on their feet each day. Sydney Adventist Hospital already had Altro products in place for many years and therefore, sought Altro K30 and Altro Whiterock as a long term interior package for their kitchen.

According to Willobee Floors owner Peter Johannsen, the hospital recognised the need to greatly increase the kitchen size to cope with a greater number of patients. Their brief sought surfaces that were durable, long-lasting, safe and easy to clean. Altro safety flooring was the hospital’s first choice based on their existing long-term relationship, with Altro K30 and Altro Whiterock specified for the project.

Altro offers impervious, coveable safety flooring ranges for food preparation and eating areas, with the products featuring Altro Easyclean Technology including PUR options proven to provide unrivalled low dirt pick-up for improved long-term cleanability.

Altro Whiterock is a hygienic, impervious, impact-resistant wall cladding with welded joints and thermoformed corners for easy maintenance.
