App supports job site safety and accountability

Executive site safety visit (ESSV) app is used to perform site safety inspections on job sites

Healthcare construction teams armed with smartphones and tablets have new software that is enabling document control, punchlists and inspections to be handled more efficiently than ever, according to an article on the Medical Construction & Design website.

The new executive site safety visit (ESSV) app is used by executives to perform site safety inspections on job sites.

Traditionally, each ESSV report was a paper checklist filled out by hand. The executives then returned to the office where they input the data into a spreadsheet and emailed the form for submission. The ESSV app used during workplace safety audits allows users to create and tailor a checklist. Templates are created and published to a public library where they can be exported into a PDF or Excel file, the article said.

This system includes the ability to take photos of a deficiency and tag them to the report and create time-stamped reports.
