Arkansas hospital adds 3D surgery system

Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock is the only hospital in the state to have a high-definition, 3D surgical video system

Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock is the only hospital in Arkansas to have a high-definition, 3D surgical video system, according to an article on the THV11 website.

Surgical video systems, through the collaborative use of a video processor, light source, laparoscope and monitor, enable surgeons to peer inside the body to diagnose, detect and treat a range of diseases using a minimally invasive approach, the article said.

A 3D videoscope provides three-dimensional, high-definition images that help restore the surgeon's natural 3D vision and depth perception.

The new system will allow surgeons to perform laparoscopic surgery on a platform that supports more than 100 different endoscopes.
