LANCASTER, PA — Armstrong® Ceiling & Wall Systems has greatly expanded its line of TechZone™ Ceiling Systems, the industry’s first acoustical ceiling system that organized lighting fixtures, air diffusers, and sprinkler heads in a narrow technical channel or “zone” to create a cleaner, more monolithic ceiling visual.
Initially, the system was only available with Armstrong Optima® ceiling panels and a 6” wide technical zone. Today, technical panels as narrow as 4”, slimmer linear lights, and drywall-like textures are all available to meet the continuing desire for an uncluttered, more linear ceiling visual.
Over 100 Panel Options
Ceiling panel options now include panel sizes in the fine-textured look of both Armstrong Optima and Ultima® ceilings as well as the smooth, drywall-like visual of new Calla™ and Lyra™ ceilings. The rich, warm visual provided by WoodWorks® ceiling panels and the sleek, sophisticated look of MetalWorks™ panels are also available.
In addition, Optima ceiling panels are now offered with a Vector® edge detail. The patented Vector edge produces a sleek 1/4” reveal that minimizes the visible grid, creating a ceiling much more monolithic in appearance than ordinary suspended ceilings.
Technical Zone Options
To further expand design possibilities, the system’s technical zone is now offered in 4” and 12” widths as well as the original 6” width. Among the linear lighting options that the narrow widths offer are continuous and linear recessed light fixtures including LEDs in both the 4” zone and 6” zone.
A variety of linear diffusers for air supply and return are also available for use in the 4” and 6” wide zones, while energy-efficient TechZone-compatible chilled beam fixtures can be integrated into the new 12” wide zone.
Clean, Custom Look
TechZone Ceiling Systems eliminate cluttered, chopped-up ceiling planes that distract from the design intent of a space. By partnering with the nation’s leading lighting, diffuser, fire protection, and chilled beam manufacturers, Armstrong ensures a wide range of compatible fixtures that have been pre-qualified for fit and finish and provide a pre-engineered, easy-to-specify ceiling system that uses standard components for a clean, custom look.
