The new $7.8 million Bicester Community Hospital in Oxfordshire, U.K., replaces an existing inflexible and outdated 1908 hospital, according to an article on the Healthcare Design website. The new ambulance base, first aid unit, after-hours, and outpatient areas are placed at the front of the building on the ground floor for accessibility. Patient bedrooms are arranged around the central landscaped zone, with all areas having direct access to the therapy garden, the article said.
