Bilco introduces safety yellow color for LadderUP safety post

WEST HAVEN, CT/The Bilco Company, a manufacturer of specialty access products for the commercial and residential markets, has changed the standard color of its LadderUP® Safety Post from black to safety yellow. This new color, supplied as a powder-coat finish, gives the safety device more visibility in the dark and confined spaces in which the product is typically used. The increased visibility from this color change will promote worker safety by encouraging greater usage and making the product easier to operate in these environments.

The LadderUP Safety Post is an easy-to-install, easy-to-use extension device for fixed ladders,   allowing workers safe entrance and egress from roof hatches, manholes or floor, vault and sidewalk doors. The spring-balanced LadderUP features rugged tubular construction and permanently mounts on the top two rungs of any fixed ladder, providing workers with a positive hand-hold and enabling them to enter or exit an opening in an upright and balanced position. A handy release lever allows the LadderUP to be lowered to its retracted position. In addition to safety yellow, models are available in galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and can be custom ordered in the original black powder-coat finish.

This color change is part of Bilco’s effort to standardize the color of its line of safety products to safety yellow. In addition to the LadderUP, the company offers fall protection grating, a permanent means of fall protection for the company’s line of floor, vault, and sidewalk doors, and the  Bil-Guard® hatch railing, an OSHA-compliant system that provides a permanent means of fall protection around roof hatch and fire vent openings.
