Brooklyn Hospital Center permanently loses some patient data after ransomeware attack

It's been six months since a veteran and double amputee opened fire inside the West Palm Beach VA Center


A ransomware attack hitting computer several systems at Brooklyn Hospital Center in New York City caused permanent loss of some patients' information, according to an article on the Fierce Healthcare website.

Despite remediation efforts to recover all the data infected with malware, certain patient data were unrecoverable. 

There is no evidence data were accessed or acquired or of any attempted misuse of the data, the hospital said.

 The information that can't be recovered could include patient names and certain dental or cardiac images.
