CDC's how-to on treating Ebola safely

New York Times article includes instructions, charts and graphics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention


The director of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that worker safety guidelines were not followed at the Dallas hospital where two healthcare workers became infected with Ebola in the course of treating a Liberian man who died from the disease on Oct. 8.

An article on The New York Times website, gathered the CDC's recommendations for healthcare workers.

The CDC offers dozens of pages of Ebola information, including a list of the personal protective equipment that should be worn, including:

• Fluid-resistant or impermeable gown

• Goggles or a face shield

• Face mask over the nose and mouth
