California hospital to lay off 96 employees

Layoffs will include security, food service and housekeeping


Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, Calif., plans to lay off almost 100 employees in security, food service and housekeeping, according to an article on the Campus Security website.

The facility is restructuring its employment levels in what it says is a reaction to the changing healthcare landscape.

Other employees may also have their hours reduced. Overall, 134 positions will be impacted by the restructuring.

Memorial Medical Center is a 423-bed hospital that currently has about 2,400 employees.
