Camera installed at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Ill., is documenting, almost in real time, the construction of a 96-room, three-story addition at the hospital. according to an article on The Chicago Tribune website.
"Our community, overall, has always been very interested in the hospital," Laura Neiberg, vice president of support operations, said. "We want them to be excited about how the hospital is growing and changing to meet their medical needs."
All of the rooms in the addition will be private and will bring the number of patient rooms at the hospital to 284.
The new addition will not have a central nursing station. Instead nurses will work at pods that will serve about 10 rooms each. There also will be computers in every patient room where nurses can work.
Views from the camera also will be broadcast on televisions in patients' rooms if they want to check on it.
