Central Florida hospitals evacuated, locked down ahead of Irma

The majority of patients at Health First's Cape Canaveral Hospital will be transferred to other Health First hospitals


Several Central Florida hospitals evacuated ahead of Hurricane Irma, which on Friday morning was a Category 4 storm, according to an article on the Click Orlando website.

The majority of patients at Health First's Cape Canaveral Hospital, for instance, will be transferred to other Health First hospitals in the region.

Hospital officials said in a news release that it will assess the hospital for any damage after the storm has passed.

Evacuations were also conducted at Florida Hospital Oceanside in Ormond Beach and Florida Hospital New Smyrna.
