Gwinnett Hospital in Duluth, Ga., is preparing to cut down several oak trees that have been around for more than a century, according to an article on the WSBTV website.
The hospital's campus is a community destination for picnics and gatherings, but experts say the trees in the area are now unsafe. Over the winter, one of the large oak trees uprooted and fell across a road. The hospital hired an arborist who determined several of the oaks are diseased and must go.
All three of the trees are scheduled to come down this month. Six trees will be planted in place of the trees that are removed.
