Chicago's Swedish Covenant Hospital selects eClinicalWorks EHR and RCM

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.—eClinicalWorks®, a leader in ambulatory healthcare IT solutions, today announced that Chicago’s Swedish Covenant Hospital has selected eClinicalWorks comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) solutions for its 150 employed physicians, Swedish Covenant Medical Group. These solutions will help streamline processes in addition to improving both provider to provider and provider to patient communication.

“Swedish Covenant Hospital continues to focus on investing in new technologies for our physicians and patients,” said Karen Sheehan, vice president and CIO at Swedish Covenant Hospital. “We sought to replace our current EHR solution with one that will fit our physicians’ needs more closely and improve communication at the point of care. eClinicalWorks positions Swedish Covenant Medical Group for clinical integration as well as for meaningful use requirements.”

eClinicalWorks RCM provides an independently-verified 98% first-pass acceptance rate, resulting in more claims being accepted at the clearinghouse and immediately forwarded on to the insurance payer, putting money in the hands of providers faster. This service is available for 2.9% of monthly collected revenue and also includes the complete EHR suite by eClinicalWorks, on-site training as well as 24/7 customer service.

“Swedish Covenant Hospital wanted to offer its providers an EHR platform that was more in tune with their needs to provide optimal patient care,” said Girish Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks. “eClinicalWorks brings an extensive clinical platform and RCM capabilities that enable providers to submit claims correctly the first time and realize revenues faster. At a trendsetting 2.9% and a first-pass acceptance rate that is well above industry average, we expect the market to start demanding this quality of solution at this price point. We look forward to working with Swedish Covenant Hospital.”

As part of eClinicalWorks’ comprehensive EHR solution, Swedish Covenant Hospital will also utilize the eClinicalWorks Patient Portal, enabling patients and doctors to communicate securely via the Internet, and P2POpen™, providing practice-to-practice, provider-to-provider communications in a peer-to-peer environment.
