Cleveland Clinic announced plans for $1.3 billion in new construction, expansion and renovation projects for its facilities. Tom Mihaljevic, the clinic’s CEO and president, made the announcement during the annual State of the Clinic address.
“The most common question I am asked is, ‘Where will Cleveland Clinic go next?’ To me, it is not about where, but how we will grow. We build, partner and innovate with technology,” Mihaljevic says. “This year, we are funding $1.3 billion in projects. Nearly half of that will be used to renew our current facilities.”
In 2022, projects include:
- on main campus, construction of the first integrated neurological hospital
- the opening of Mentor Hospital
- expansion of Cole Eye Institute
- renovation of Fairview Hospital
- expansion of Cleveland Clinic Weston’s bed tower
- the opening of Cleveland Clinic London hospital
- the opening of a new oncology center in Abu Dhabi.
Cleveland Clinic is a 6,500-bed health system that includes a 173-acre main campus near downtown Cleveland, 19 hospitals, more than 220 outpatient facilities, and locations in southeast Florida, Las Vegas, Toronto, Abu Dhabi and London.
