Cleveland health system expands green space to create a 'hospital in a park'

MetroHealth's 52-acre campus will have 25 acres of green space


The Cleveland-based MetroHealth System is adding more green space to its campus, creating a "hospital in a park," according to an article on the Fierce Healthcare website.

MetroHealth's 52-acre campus' 1 to 2 acres of green space will increase to 25 acres.

The added parks and green space will include walking paths and a wellness garden and be open to the public. 

MetroHealth is considering traffic flow, parking and the overall patient experience as it designs the new campus, according to a system spokesperson. The primary goal is to make it easy for patients to arrive and park at the hospital and get to their destination without delays, anxiety or confusion.
