Combined outdoor space caters to patients of all ages

The space was designed for play, exercise and rehabilitation

Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and the John McGivney Children’s Centre in Windsor, Canada, have partnered to create a health and wellness space for patients, staff, kids and their families, according to an article on the Windsor Star website.

The new multi-faceted outdoor facility — located in the green space between the two properties  — includes special playground and workout equipment.

The LiUNA!625 Outdoor Recreation and Wellness Centre caters to rehab patients at the hospital. The second section — Play McGivney — is a fully accessible playground with lights and sounds for children of all ages.

The brightly colored equipment, designed by Mark Jones of PlayWorld, was created for people of all abilities. The equipment is wheelchair accessible and a rubber flooring throughout aims to reduce the risk of injuries if case of a fall.
