Day Kimball Healthcare recognized for renovating its infrastructure

Day Kimball Healthcare (DKH) in Putnam, Conn., will be recognized by  Facility Maintenance Decisions magazine for renovating its infrastructure in an energy-efficient way, according to an article on the Norwich Bulletin website.

The award will be presented Oct. 7 at the National Facilities Management and Technology Conference in Las Vegas.

“We’ve leveraged what we already have that was of value to make the most of our dollars and create energy efficiencies,” DKH Facilities Director Greg Harubin said in the article.

The award highlighted three projects that cost Day Kimball Healthcare a total of $1,022,919 and will save a projected $3,718,627 over their life spans.

The projects include large and small efforts, such as installing sensor controls to 1,400 light fixtures inside the hospital, replacing window air conditioner units, replacing all the exterior lights, installing new controls to optimize chiller plant efficiency and installing heat recovery systems.
