Healthcare facility staff should try and control the process as much as possible


During an accreditation survey, the healthcare facility staff should try and control the process as much as possible, according to an article on the FacilityCare website.

With a few exceptions, contractors should be sent away when surveyors are present, the article said.

Contractors are not trained and educated in the regulatory requirements the same way the hospital staff should be. The contractors may not even know or understand the significance of an accreditation survey

A service technician my not know with which specific regulations that the hospital must comply and therefore may say something to a surveyor that may cause trouble.
