Cooper Lighting joins California Lighting Technology Center

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga.  – Cooper Lighting, a leader at the forefront of transforming the lighting industry and setting an unmatched standard for innovation and reliability, is pleased to announce that it has joined the California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) as an affiliate partner. Cooper Lighting will collaborate with the Center and affiliates to spearhead projects that accelerate the deployment and commercialization of energy-efficient lighting and daylighting technologies.

"Cooper Lighting was a strong supporter of the CLTC at its inception, and Cooper shares CLTC's goals of improving energy efficiency and advancing excellence in the lighting industry," said CLTC Director Michael Siminovitch, who is also the Rosenfeld Chair in Energy Efficiency at the University of California, Davis. "All of us at the Center welcome Cooper Lighting into our network of affiliate partners, and we look forward to collaborating on exciting new research and development projects."

As part of the University of California, Davis, the CLTC is a research, development and demonstration facility established through a collaborative effort between the California Energy Commission, the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. Through active partnerships with government, industry, and academia, the Center includes full-scale lighting and daylighting application laboratories for the development and demonstration of next-generation, emerging lighting and daylighting technologies. The Center also works with legislative leaders and regulatory agencies on energy policy, lighting codes and building standards.

“The State of California’s aggressive energy demand and emission reduction goals accelerate unique challenges in servicing their residents and businesses over the next decade,” says Cooper Lighting President Mark Eubanks. “The Cooper Lighting and CLTC partnership offers collaborative lighting and controls technology development focused on providing market-ready products to serve the people of California with practical and reliable results.”
