Ransomware is just one area to consider


Healthcare cybersecurity threats will continue to evolve as healthcare facilities adopt the latest technology, according to an article on the Healthcare IT Security website.

Ransomware attacks — along with BYOD security and data breaches — is a top concern.

Ransomware is especially dangerous because if certain information is locked up or inaccessible, patient care could be affected.

“There's a lot of data that winds up on end points, a lot of data that's very distributed,” Citrix Chief Security Strategist Kurt Roemer said. “You have a lot of healthcare professionals that are contractors and other third parties and operate as independents and maybe work for multiple facilities.”
