Dancker Acquires Baltimore-based Hyperspace

Integrated interior solutions firm dancker announced that it has acquired the assets of Hyperspace, a Steelcase furniture dealer headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, making dancker the single Steelcase dealer in Baltimore and increasing its ability to serve clients in the region.

This is dancker’s second acquisition in Maryland this year. In July, the company acquired the assets of U.S. Business Interiors, another Steelcase furniture dealer with offices in Baltimore and Capitol Heights.

“We are very proud to be adding the talented team at Hyperspace to our organization and expanding our footprint in and around Baltimore,” says Steven Lang, dancker President & CEO. “To support our clients and partners, dancker is on course to becoming the largest integrated interior solutions provider in the Mid-Atlantic. Baltimore is the perfect location for achieving this goal and we look forward to working with our clients and growing relationships with the commercial real estate and design community. We anticipate and are committed to a long-lasting presence in this great city.”

Hyperspace was established in 2012 when OSI of Hagerstown, which was founded in 1972, re-branded and opened a second location in Baltimore. Hyperspace will begin doing business as dancker immediately and will continue to provide the same products and exceptional services for which the company has become known. Hyperspace employees will join dancker’s team, which now spans from the Northeast to the Mid-Atlantic region. An integration team is in place to assist with the transition to ensure continuity in business practices and assimilation of company culture.

Nathan Kooi, Vice President and General Manager for dancker’s Mid-Atlantic region, will work with the sales leadership team to lead the sales efforts expanding dancker’s client base and overall market presence in this region. Additionally, the company is  seeking additional local talent in Baltimore to join their team.

“Hyperspace was built on 45 years of providing exceptional service and great products, so we are especially excited to join an organization that also has a long, proud history and outstanding reputation. The opportunity for us also means our clients can benefit from working with an industry leader able to provide fully integrated architectural, furniture, technology, and logistical solutions,” notes Treva Ghattas, Principal of Hyperspace.

At nearly 200 years old, dancker creates effective and flexible environments for organizations that include several Fortune 100 companies. dancker is the only Northeastern company to be named Steelcase Premier Partner for five consecutive years and has strong relationships with over 400 manufacturers in the furniture, architectural products and audiovisual industries, including partners like Steelcase, DIRTT, Maars Living Walls, Crestron, and Microsoft.
