Dental clinic accused of using contaminated water during procedures

Suit says office failed to actively monitor the water quality or disinfect water lines

A lawsuit against a Georgia dentist claims the office used contaminated water during procedures, according to an article on the KCEN-TV website.

Almost two dozen children between the ages of 6 and 10 contracted Mycobacterium abscessus infections after getting pulpotomies, or "baby root canals," at the Dentistry for Children of Georgia, LLC, the suit said.

The complaint claims the outbreak occurred at the dental clinic's Jonesboro location between 2014 and 2016 and was a result of "severely contaminated water" used during irrigation and drilling.

Suit says office failed to actively monitor the water quality or disinfect water lines.
