Enhancing the patient experience has become a priority since the CMS began linking reimbursements to patient surveys, according to an article on the Healthcare Design website


An article on the Healthcare Design website explored how aspects of hospital design and planning can impact a positive patient experience. New facilities almost always improve the patient experience, but  making tweaks to existing spaces can also have an impact. Noise reduction, improved communication, staff support, natural light, and effective wayfinding are some of the ways to improve patient survey rankings without the investment of major facility renovations.
