Tips to creating welcoming waiting rooms include:

• Aim for a coffee-shop-type feel that offers a variety of options to accommodate each different demand, whether it be a cozy lounge, a work station or a play area

• Include a variety of furniture styles, colors and textures to add depth to the space while making it homey

• Choose artwork to serve as a focal point

• Provide some tabletop lamps or a fireplace to improve the ambiance

• Be sure there are ample electrical outlets placed in convenient locations
