E-Mon introduces Din-Mon DIN Rail-Mount electric smart meters for building automation system integration


LANGHORNE, PA — E-Mon, the electric submetering market leader and manufacturer of the widely installed E-Mon D-Mon® product line, announces its new line of Din-Mon™  kWh / kW smart meters. Housed in standard DIN rail-mount enclosures, the single-protocol (Din-Mon D2) and dual-protocol (Din-Mon D5) meters facilitate integration of advanced energy monitoring into building automation systems, switchgear, control panels, server racks, renewable energy systems and other space-constrained applications.

“These meters allow facility managers to increase the granularity of their energy intelligence when monitoring the buildings’ energy usage,” said Don Millstein, E-Mon president. “These compact, non-metallic-enclosed meters can be integrated into existing systems to perform advanced energy monitoring and communications at the point of load. This in turn helps building operators improve energy savings while reducing operating costs.”

Key features of the Din-Mon family include:

    • Four-line display–kWh; Volts, Amps and power factor per phase; real-time load in kW and more

    • Built-in RS-485 communications–protocols include EZ7 (E-Mon Energy), Modbus RTU or

      BACnet MS/TP

    • Din-Mon D5 offers dual protocol communication–protocols include EZ7 Ethernet (E-Mon Energy),

      Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet IP or LonWorks FT-10

    • 0.333 V output split-core current sensors (standard) allow for enhanced safety and accurate remote

      mounting of sensors up to 500 feet from meter. Optional solid-core sensors and 100 mA

      output sensors available

Din-Mon smart meters meet or exceed national and international standards, including the Underwriters Laboratories (UL/CUL) listings for safety, the American National Standard Institute for accuracy and performance (ANSI C12.20), the European Union’s Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) that primarily addresses precision, reliability and security and CE Marking which addresses safety, health and environmental requirements.
