Eaton Enhances Molded Case Circuit Breaker Authentication Tool to Improve Access to Electrical Product Information

Power management company Eaton today announced that its Molded Case Circuit Breaker authentication (CBA) tool, accessible via the PowerEdge mobile app, has been enhanced with new features and functionality that make it easier than ever for customers to access critical information about thousands of Eaton electrical products and verify the purchase of safe, authentic Eaton molded case circuit breakers (MCCBs). These features include a UPC Barcode Reader, which allows users to access information about Eaton standard products from their smart phones, including industrial and residential miniature circuit breakers and control products.

In addition to providing access to electrical product information, the new UPC scanning capability in Eaton’s CBA tool allows the user to quickly and easily confirm the authenticity of Eaton Series C® and Series G® MCCBs up to 400 amperes. Users simply scan the UPC code on the package or directly on the product and the tool delivers commercial and technical information directly to the user’s screen, including ratings, spec sheets, instruction manuals, product catalogs and more. As with previous versions of the tool, commercial information can be accessed using the EAN Number, Style Number or Catalog Number or by manual entry of the QPC code.

Additional new features in Eaton’s enhanced CBA tool include:

  • Improved workflow for faster access to scanning capability
  • Updated library of high-quality product images
  • Enhanced commercial data, including package dimensions for Eaton products, in a collapsible format
  • Improved distributor locator experience

Eaton is committed to raising awareness of the risks and dangers that counterfeit products present. Its electrical business is committed to anti-counterfeiting technologies and programs. Eaton’s “Power of Authenticity” program allows authorized distributors to source and supply authentic products quickly and efficiently to electrical professionals.
