Elmwood at the Springs Health Care Center selects Versasuite as its electronic medical records and practice management software

By Healthcare Facilities Today

Austin, TX - VersaSuite today announced Ohio-based Elmwood at the Springs Health Care Center, a long term acute care (LTAC) hospital, has selected its adaptive electronic health records and practice management software. VersaSuite offers a complete EHR and practice management solution for LTAC facilities and is designed to automate workflows, increase revenues, and improve patient care from admission to discharge.

“Elmwood is growing to support a rapidly evolving population with very different needs. Because our staff is committed to providing excellence like no other we needed to implement an EHR software that would not get in the way of that mission. We found VersaSuite appealing because it is a scalable and customizable solution which can support the entire breadth of services we deliver,” said Kathy Hunt, CEO and owner of Elmwood Communities.

LTAC facilities serve critically ill patients with medically complex injuries and/or illnesses who require extended acute care after being released from a traditional hospital, but are ineligible to be transferred to a skilled nursing or other sub-acute facility. VersaSuite delivers a robust business intelligence tool, incorporating a feature set to allow monitoring of re-admit rates, utilization rates, and basically any field in real time. VersaSuite provides performance tracking and the ability to graph and perform statistical analysis of any clinical metric across any subset of patients.

“We are proud to work with a facility like Elmwood because the population they serve requires a patient-centered approach to healthcare which means they deliver a host of healthcare disciplines,” said Darius Samani, CEO of VersaSuite. “LTAC facilities that serve similar communities will find they have the same technology challenges as a larger entity. Unfortunately LTAC facilities must handle these challenges with limited staff and budgets. We developed VersaSuite to assist these smaller facilities which require support for all operations such as revenue cycle management, HIS, EHR, inventory management, lab information system, pharmacy, and X-ray.”

VersaSuite includes comprehensive templates to enable a heterogeneous inpatient and outpatient implementation such as behavioral health, case management, daily assessments, dietary, infection control, infectious disease, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology treatment plan, respiratory care, risk assessment, speech therapy, wound care, and more. Staff will find the complex order sets, for computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and electronic medication administration record (EMAR) capabilities, are able to be entered and reviewed in just a few clicks. Furthermore, staff can easily create ad hoc orders and modify pre-set orders. The software also includes barcode scanning support to ensure safe medication delivery. VersaSuite is HIPAA 5010 and ICD 10 compliant and supports DICOM, IHE, HL7 compliance, and the ability to conduct CCD and CCR import/export. VersaSuite also enables users to manage referral networks among a variety of external locations.
