Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson (NYSE: EMR) and a global leader in maximizing availability, capacity and efficiency of critical infrastructure, announced significant enhancements across its portfolio, ensuring best‑in‑class security capabilities for government, multimedia, broadcast, financial and IT operation center environments. Available in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan, all of the enhanced solutions address two critical customer concerns: enhanced security and increased remote monitoring and management.
“New security threats emerge every day, and we must remain vigilant in ensuring our systems are delivering the best possible protection for our customers and their networks,” said Jay Wirts, general manager, Avocent Core Products at Emerson Network Power. “We must do this while continuing to meet the increasing need for holistic network visibility and control anytime, from anywhere. All of today’s enhancements are designed specifically to deliver secure, intelligent environments without compromising access or usability.”
The new enhancements include a firmware upgrade to Emerson’s Avocent® ACS Advanced Console Server, which enables secure data access and management. The Avocent ACS 6000 firmware release, available for download today, delivers faster time to value for large installations with zero-touch provisioning. Additionally, automatic network failover to 3G/4G/LTE cellular communications provides an alternate path to critical assets in the event of a network outage. Other notable enhancements in the product line include:
The Avocent Universal Management Gateway (UMG) is the industry’s only consolidated management appliance enabling secure, centralized remote management of any device in any location. The latest enhancements simplify integration with Emerson Network Power’s Trellis™ platform and allow the Avocent UMG to recognize server software versions and automatically push the latest version to any server, helping to eliminate software or firmware vulnerabilities.
Emerson’s Avocent AV analog KVM switch family is expanding with new offerings that provide enhanced security capabilities. Available in May, the new switches can be upgraded from analog to digital with the purchase of a USB digital key. This provides enhanced flexibility and an economically attractive remote solution for small data center environments.
Emerson’s Avocent DSView™ management software enables unified, secure, out‑of‑band management of all connected IT and network devices. Today’s enhancement hardens Avocent DSView against increasing external threats, and extends support of 4G communications and management of the automatic network failover feature on the ACS 6000.
Emerson’s Avocent Rack Power Manager (RPM) software enables visibility and management of socket-to-rack power consumption and integration with the secured Avocent DSView data center model, significantly reducing RPM implementation time, improving staff productivity and data center power optimization.
Emerson’s Avocent Matrix Digital High-Performance KVM system delivers fast, secure, reliable connections between multiple users, servers and peripherals in the control room of the future. These high-performance environments must support multiple video formats with a broad range of resolutions and ensure anytime, anywhere access. Today’s enhancements improve visibility, efficiency and uptime, shrink deployment timelines and expand USB peripheral device control capabilities.
