Financial Veteran Joins Smart Care as Chief Financial Officer

Smart Care Equipment Solutions, the largest independent provider of kitchen equipment repair and maintenance to the commercial food service industry has added a financial veteran to the company’s leadership team. Following an extensive search process, Smart Care has appointed Scott Pettit to the role of Chief Financial Officer as the company plans for further strategic growth and anticipated acquisitions over the next few years.

“Scott was a natural choice to join our leadership team and help guide our strategic growth initiative,” says Bill Emory, chief executive officer, Smart Care. “He’s spent the past two decades in senior financial leadership positions at companies that grew largely through acquisition, so he brings a proven track record and particularly relevant skills that will help us move forward as an organization over the next five years.”

As Chief Financial Officer, Pettit will lead Smart Care’s financial team and assist with the execution of the company’s strategic growth initiative. He joins the leadership team following the acquisition in June of Birmingham Alabama based REMCO, a regional leader in equipment repair and service, and ahead of intended acquisitions, which will help meet the company’s goal of doubling in size within the next three to five years. Most recently he held senior financial roles at Insurance Auto Auctions and Fenix Parts.

“This is an exciting time to be coming on board at Smart Care,” says Scott Petit,  Chief Financial Officer, Smart Care Equipment Solutions. “Our leadership team has set a very clear path for building anindustry-defining service company that delivers an unmatched customer experience, and I’m convinced across the board we have the right people in the right places to really succeed. I know firsthand how rewarding it can be to be part of an innovative and growth-oriented organization.”

Pettit  graduated from business school at University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed a masters of management degree (MBA) at Northwestern University. He is in the process of  relocating from the Chicago, Illinois area with his family.
